In just ten day's time, the Dunedin City Council will sit to map the city's finances for another year.

The council oversees a budget worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and its decisions affect all city residents.

The chairman of the Dunedin Ratepayers and Householders Association says this year those decisions need to be heavy on saving, and light on spending.
