Dunedin-based global tracking provider TracPlus Global is taking its services to the top of the world, quite literally.

They're providing tracking data and internet and mobile coverage for a unique expedition up Mount Everest, by an Australian mother-daughter team.

‘Oz Chicks with Altitude’ invlolves Cheryl Bart, and her daughter Nikki, who've now climbed the highest peaks on six of the world’s seven continents – leaving the biggest until last.

TracPlus Global CEO Chris Hinch says the Everest expedition provides an intriguing challenge, and an opportunity to once again showcase TracPlus’s capabilities.

He says he doesn't know of any other attempt to use live tracking at such altitudes and extreme conditions.
