A 19 year old male has been arrested and charged with robbery stemming from an incident on Princes Street last night.

The man is alleged to have stolen a handbag from a woman at approximately 9pm.

The woman, who is in her 50's, received minor injuries to her hand when she was knocked to the ground.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the Princes Street and Exchange area around 9 o'clock last night, in particular two males who tried to stop the offender.
