A programme to help Dunedin residents install insulation and heating in their homes has been extended.

The Warm Dunedin Pilot Programme has provided up to $5,000 to insulate and heat their homes.

The money is then paid off through rates over ten years.

The programme is run by the DCC and the Government, and has provided funding for 263 homes so far.

It has been extended for three months, or until funding runs out.
