Two of New Zealand's best batsmen have helped the Green Island Swamp Rats claim Dunedin cricket's championship trophy.

Jesse Ryder and Hamish Rutherford put on the club whites for the first time this season, after finishing their domestic season last week.

And although he likes a drink off the field, Ryder was keeping quiet on if he would join the side for a celebratory drink.
