Three thousand tickets to June's All Blacks versus England test match at Forsyth Barr Stadium have already been sold today.

Ten thousand tickets went on sale today, allocated to fans in the south in a promotion called 'South of the Waitaki River'.

The promotion allows people who live south of the Waitaki to purchase tickets before they go on public sale.

It will be the third time the home side has played at the stadium, and interestingly the fourth for the visitors after they played at the venue during the Rugby World Cup.

The promotion will run until next Monday.
