A Dunedin City Council committee got an update from its economic development unit this week, as a plan to develop a more business-friendly council had its first birthday.

The Red Tape Not Red Carpet project was launched a year ago.

And despite its strategy to say yes to business, staff promised it did not mean getting around council policies.
