Domestic violence is a common occurrence in New Zealand and unfortunately much of it goes unnoticed.

Ethnic women's support group 'Shakti' released a book today zeroing in on the issues of family abuse for immigrants in New Zealand.

And while the group receives more than 600 calls a month relating to some type of violence, members say many incidents go unreported.
