The British High Commissioner has bid farewell to Dunedin, leaving a final message for residents with ties to Scotland.

Vicki Treadell gave a public speech at Toitu Otago Settlers Museum, highlighting the British Government's wish for Scotland to remain part of the United Kingdom.

She says much of the focus to date has been pro-independence, and it's important for Dunedin residents to hear from both sides.
