Four Dunedin women are setting out to show the rest of the nation that glamour is alive and well in the south.

They'll compete in the Miss Universe New Zealand pageant in September, in the hope of winning the coveted title.

All are first-time contestants in the competition, but confidence is high and they're betting on a good result.
