A charity dinner event in Dunedin last night raised $64,000 for Ronald McDonald House South Island.

The Supper Club event saw about 200 Dunedin residents dining at 24 different locations in the city.

They sampled food by some of the country's best chefs, at some unusual venues including a luxury boat and two train carriages.

The annual fundraiser also included live and silent auctions, of thousands of dollars worth of donated products and services.

Supper Club has been held in Dunedin for the past five years, and last night's event was by far the most successful to date.
