Pre-election results indicate the level of unemployment in
New Zealand has fallen to 5.6% according to figures released by Statistics New Zealand today.

The unemployment rate is now at its lowest point since the March quarter in 2009 but The Household Labour Force Survey reports the number of employed has actually risen by 3.7%.

Figures from the Quarterly Employment Survey show demand for workers from established businesses is up by 2.3%.
