The price of food has come down slightly, following several months of increases.
Statistics New Zealand reports that food prices fell 0.7% last month.
Meat was cheaper, as well as grocery items, fruit and vegetables.
The price of beef fell 4.4% - down from its highest recorded level in June.
The 0.7% drop in grocery items was influenced by lower prices for food additives and condiments.
And while breakfast cereals were markedly cheaper, the price of bread increased - by 2.6%.
