The Top Shop awards for Otago and Southland have been announced.

And the major prize has gone to the George Street store of Spark - formerly Telecom.

It will vie for a national honour against other regional top shop winners, with a supreme title awarded at the end of next month.

There were eight other category awards for Otago and Southland, and all but one went to Dunedin businesses.

They were Mitre 10 Mega, Barkers Menswear, Living Light Candles, Rosie's Gifts and Homeware, The Strictly Coffee Company, LoveLoops and Acquisitions.
