Basic Tuning

This is a simple tuning guide to to tuning into Channel 9.

If you have your television's manual it will have the basic instructions you need to tune your set to Channel 9. Whilst it is not possible to describe tuning details for each manufacturer's equipment, most devices follow the same basic procedure.

  1. Find the tuning control panel, which is usually located on modern sets on the front of the set behind a panel as shown in the following example picure.
  2. Next, change to the channel number, say 9, to programme or one that is not already used for another station.
  3. Locate the tuning, programme or preset button and press it to start tuning.
  4. Switch the TV band selector to UHF. This may be by pressing the band button or the preset button until you see UHF.
  5. Now... start tuning by pressing + (up) or - (down) on the tuning control until a clear picture and sound appear.
  6. Press the tuning or preset button again to lock channel 9 into the TV.

With sky satellite, you will need to tune your television and video to Channel 9 as above.

With Sky UHF installed it can be added to Sky as follows:-

  1. Press the enter button on your sky UHF remote.
  2. Press the down arrow from the selection menu to favourite program.
  3. Press enter.
  4. Move to a free button, say F9, and enter the channel 62 (or 50).
  5. Press enter.

Your Sky remote has now stored Channel 9 into its memory on the 9 button.
