People wanting to be on the electoral role to vote in October's local body and southern district health board elections need to have completed enrolment forms in by noon tomorrow.

Registrar of Electors Dee Vickers says candidates are promoting themselves, billboards are up, but you will only be sent voting papers if you are enrolled correctly.

Local body elections are done by means of a postal ballot, as opposed to going to a polling booth.

Olivier Lequeux and Port Chalmers gardening contractor Kevin Dwyer put their names in for the Mayoral race yesterday, while the left-leaning organisation, Community Vision, announced its range of people: Hendrik Koch, Geraldine Tait, Jono Clark and Andrew Eames.
