Situation

A ridge of high pressure will spread towards the South Island today with a cold southerly airflow easing over the country. An anticyclone will move across the North Island tomorrow. Another depression will be developing in the Tasman Sea tomorrow, and will move past the North Island this weekend. Meanwhile, a cold front will move over the South Island from the Southern Ocean on Sunday bringing a strong cold southwesterly airflow onto New Zealand next week. The airflow will tilt southerly and become very cold on Tuesday, ahead of an anticyclone moving across the Tasman Sea.

Dunedin

Cold tonight with frosts. Mostly fine and sunny tomorrow with light southwesterly winds and cool temperatures.
Fine with high cloud increasing on Saturday and milder northwesterly winds freshening.

North Otago
