International cruise line representatives are finding New Zealand's fuel and port costs to be among the highest in the world.

A recent Cruise New Zealand conference heard that while cruise passengers regularly rate their Kiwi experience highly, the high cost of operating here is a challenge for cruise lines.

200,000 passengers and crew are expected to visit Dunedin over the 2014/15 season, a slight decrease in previous figures.
