Four Dunedin businesses are finalists in this year's New Zealand Innovators Awards.

Scott Technology Limited is shortlisted in the agriculture and environment category for its work on automated lamb boning.

Nomos is a finalist in the financial and professional services section, as is Thankyou Payroll.

And Photonic Innovations Limited is a finalist in the health and science category.

Overall 112 finalists are vying for 14 category wins.

Organisers say there's been a 60% increase on entries, showing business innovation is thriving.
