Employment costs are increasing, up 1.8% in the year to June.
The non-wage component has risen 2%.
That reflects higher costs for annual leave, statutory holidays, superannuation and workplace accident insurance.
Costs associated with medical insurance and low-interest loans are also up.
There has been a 1.7% increase in salary and wage rates, including overtime.
The 3.1% rise in superannuation reflects continued growth in KiwiSaver membership.
Workplace accident insurance costs increased 5.8%.
